Virat Kohli is all set to skip ODI series against South Africa amid plans to celebrate Vamika's first birthday: Report

Test skipper Virat Kohli has requested BCCI to skip the ODI series against South Africa. He has reportedly planned a vacation with Anushka Sharma to celebrate daughter Vamika's first birthday.

A s per report in the Times of India suggests that Virat Kohli is taking time off to celebrate his daughter Vamika's 1st birthday. Vamika Kohli was born on January 11 this year, and Virat is said to be planning a holiday with his family after the conclusion of the Test series. The final Test of the tour will be played from Jan 11 to 15.


Earlier, Rohit Sharma was ruled out of the Test series due to a hamstring injury. Rohit, however, is expected to be fully fit for the ODI series starting from Jan 19. Now, it looks like Virat Kohli will not be available for the important ODI series.


The ODI captaincy change saga


The change in India's One Day International captaincy had shaken the Indian cricketing fraternity to the core. More than the role change that took place, it was the manner in which the responsibility was taken away from Kohli & handed to Rohit that rose eyebrows.
